The “Bright Border” project means to LEDify more 1200 families in frontier communities of Gegharkunik and Tavush regions.

Within this stage of the project, an investment of 6000 LED lamps will be executed in 1200 households with permanent residence of the last three years in frontier communities of Gegharkunik and Tavush regions of RA.

The sub-grant is implemented in the frames of Bridge4CSOs project led by AGBU in partnership with EPF and funded by the European Union.

Upcoming results of the project are the following:

  • 1200 LEDified households (6000 LED lamps);
  • 590 thousand kWh annual energy savings;
  • 26 million AMD annual utility cost savings;
  • 260 tons of CO2 annual emissions reduced;
  • Capacity-building of more than 50 beneficiaries;
  • Awareness-raising among more than 5000 beneficiaries.

The “Bright Border” project has launched in November of 2016 with the following accomplishments:

  • 27 frontier communities LEDified,
  • More than 5 000 households;
  • More than 25 000 LED lamps provided;
  • 120-150 million AMD annual utility cost savings.

In the New year’s Eve of 2018, we launched the “Family to Family” charity initiative in the frame of the project.

The “Bright Border” project’s scope includes the vulnerable communities listed by the RA
Government Decision of 15 January, 2015 N 30-Ն.

With limited household income, such savings in utility expenses results in improved quality of
life within the village communities. The project also envisions public awareness-raising on
energy efficiency aimed to contribute to the sustainable development of the sector.

The sub-grant is implemented in the frames of Bridge4CSOs project led by AGBU in partnership with EPF and funded by the European Union.
